This edition of Monospațiat, our special guest is Ola Kot, designer and typographer working at the intersection of typography, book design, and spatial form.

We'll talk about Signs of Connection, a typographic installation built around a shared alphabet — and what happens when two alphabets try to become one. Ola Kot and Andrei Grosu each designed their own typeface from scratch, then, using a custom-built tool, they merged them letter by letter into a single set of forms that belongs to both of them, and to neither entirely.

We'll get into the diacritics that shape Polish and Romanian, the process of building a typeface around language and identity, and why type design is never just about letters.
